HybridMarketingFull-time

About the role

The product manager is responsible for leading a portfolio of attorney-facing software products focused on matter management, document intelligence, and case workflows within Littler’s Product Management department.

This hybrid position is based in Kansas City, with an onsite expectation of once a month or less.

Responsibilities

  • Embed within assigned practice groups, building domain fluency firsthand and representing attorney needs to the development team to ensure products are designed for how attorneys actually work.
  • Lead structured discovery on every major investment in the assigned portfolio, applying broader-impact analysis and build / buy / extend evaluation before engineering capacity is committed.
  • Author Discovery Briefs that translate validated attorney problems into one-page recommendations the development team can act on without ambiguity, naming the problem, affected users, current state, root cause, recommendation, and cost / value signal.
  • Govern intake for the assigned portfolio, triaging requests against service-level agreements (4 hours urgent, 24 hours otherwise) and classifying each as a product or a one-time project to ensure work is routed before it stalls.
  • Own six-dimension cost scoring for the products in the assigned portfolio, refreshing quarterly to support the Quarterly Product Review (QPR).
  • Establish product success criteria ahead of launch and measure outcomes at 30, 60, and 90 days, ensuring every shipped product is evaluated against the problem it was meant to solve.
  • Present Invest / Maintain / Revamp / Sunset recommendations to firm leadership at the QPR, backed by cost data, outcome data, and the displacement log.
  • Communicate displacement promptly to affected stakeholders when urgent work pulls engineering capacity from planned initiatives, ensuring no surprise stops a planned commitment.
  • Partner with engineering from discovery through delivery, answering what and why and trusting engineering to own how.
  • Partner with the Product Designer on user discovery, prototyping, and solution validation, keeping design and engineering plans aligned through delivery.
  • Partner with engineering in sprint planning, standups, and reviews, clarifying priorities and validating that delivered work matches the validated problem.
  • Lead product demos with stakeholders and clients, translating shipped work into business outcomes the audience can see.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in product management, ideally in B2B / enterprise software or professional services.
  • Demonstrated track record of running user discovery and shipping outcomes — not just features.
  • Knowledge of software development methodologies (e.g. Agile, Scrum).
  • Familiarity with software development tools (e.g. Jira, Confluence).
  • Familiarity with SQL or comparable query tools to run ad hoc reports and pull product data without depending on others.
  • Experience managing complex initiatives with multiple stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication: ability to summarize a complex problem in one paragraph and back it up with evidence.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
  • Knowledge of the legal industry, document management systems, or case management systems is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of AI-enabled product workflows (e.g. Claude, Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT) is a plus.
