About The Role
The AHU (Air Handling Unit) Product Manager supports all aspects of AHU product development and launch for data center applications. This role ensures the flow of critical materials, sources new products and suppliers, and collaborates across teams to meet customer requirements. Key responsibilities include problem-solving, process improvement, and vendor management in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Work with design and manufacturing teams to develop and launch a new data center-specific product this year.
- Lead the development of product literature, including data sheets, manuals, marketing materials, submittal templates, and quotation approaches.
- Collaborate with marketing teams on literature publishing, trade show attendance, and support.
- Analyze industry costs and product cost profiles with factory and commercial teams.
- Ensure product design supports integration and installation by working with local factory teams.
- Coordinate with the purchasing team to secure long-lead equipment in alignment with project timelines.
- Review mechanical equipment specifications, submittals, drawings, and one-line diagrams for project compliance.
- Troubleshoot on-site with installers and mechanical contractors as needed.
- Manage third-party installers or commissioning agents during product integration and testing.
- Understand material applications, constructability, and evaluate/on-board new vendors for modular product enhancements.
- Monitor project inventory and initiate corrective actions to avoid material obsolescence.
- Analyze material costs, commodity trends, and cost drivers to secure competitive pricing.
- Track industry standards, lead-times, and identify alternative supply chains when necessary.
- Develop and manage vendor relations, measure performance, and ensure compliance.
- Participate in project forecasting for resource and material planning.
- Resolve critical situations and revisions professionally while supporting multiple Tate teams.
- Maintain positive working relationships with inter-company departments and suppliers.
- Uphold quality, safety, environmental, and product compliance policies; report issues to appropriate personnel.
- Ensure compliance with the Kingspan Group Compliance Policy, including product compliance tasks and raising concerns via proper channels.
Requirements
- 10–15 years of relevant experience in HVAC product development, mechanical installation, building commissioning, and troubleshooting.
- Experience in HVAC product manufacturing and development.
- Expertise in HVAC controls at the product and BMS levels.
- Supply chain and procurement experience for HVAC infrastructure and electrical projects.
- Proficiency in purchasing processes, vendor sourcing, supplier negotiation, and cost analysis.
- Experience with material management, inventory control, and MRP systems.
- Ability to read and interpret specifications and technical electrical drawings.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, Teams, etc.).
- Willingness to travel 25–50% to facilities, suppliers, and project sites.
Pay
$150,000–$175,000 USD. This role is eligible for a discretionary bonus.
