Responsibilities
Own the connected-growth product strategy for US Valve’s data center business.
Identify opportunities where broader IDEX products, technologies, or capabilities can support data center cooling applications.
Partner with Sales and Business Development to understand customer needs, application gaps, and market opportunities.
Translate customer and market needs into clear product, portfolio, and commercialization opportunities.
Create business cases for connected-growth opportunities, including market need, customer value, revenue potential, margin expectations, investment needs, risks, and execution requirements.
Work with Finance to validate assumptions around revenue, margin, cost, pricing, investment, and payback.
Collaborate with Engineering and Operations to understand whether connected-growth opportunities are technically and operationally realistic.
Support commercialization planning for connected-growth products, including positioning, customer messaging, sales tools, launch plans, and trade show support.
Help determine which opportunities should be built by US Valve, sourced through another IDEX business, partnered externally, or considered as a future M&A capability gap.
Participate in customer meetings, trade shows, and IDEX cross-business discussions where connected-growth opportunities are being developed.
Bring structure, clarity, and follow-up to ideas that might otherwise stay informal or get lost between business units.
Qualifications
Strong commercial judgment and ability to evaluate market size, customer need, value proposition, pricing, margin, and strategic fit.
Able to translate customer problems into product or capability requirements.
Comfortable working across functions, including Sales, Business Development, Engineering, Operations, Finance, and Product Management.
Able to influence without direct authority across internal teams and other business units.
Strong financial and business acumen, including revenue, margin, pricing, investment, ROI, and payback thinking.
Able to create clear, practical commercialization plans.
Strong communication skills with the ability to simplify complex opportunities for leadership and cross-functional teams.
Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, marketing, finance, or a related field.
MBA or advanced business/technical degree preferred but not required.
5+ years of product management, business development, strategy, commercial, or technical product experience in a B2B industrial, manufacturing, engineered-products, or technical market.
Experience in data center infrastructure, liquid cooling, thermal management, fluid control, valves, pumps, filtration, industrial components, or engineered systems preferred.
Experience supporting M&A strategy, market mapping, capability gap analysis, or strategic adjacency work preferred.
Physical Demands
