Position Summary Position Summary: The Product Manager supports a comprehensive product strategy from product conception through the entire life cycle for a single product line typically within a single region within a small division of a product group. Scope/ Supervision And Interaction Has Direct Reports __X Does Not Have Direct Reports Supports sales and margin growth of limited scope, single product portfolios, typically in divisions (less than $100 million). Accountable for driving sales and margin growth of the product category. The role requires strong leadership, drive and ability to guide and influence externally and internally within a matrixed organization. Actively participate with cross functional teams including engineering, supply chain, sales and production to manage entire product life cycle and maintain customer satisfaction and business objectives. Track key business performance indicators to identify and execute necessary countermeasures to achieve business/market goals to overcome obstacles or changes in market dynamics. Responsibilities Essential Functions: Responsible for the product line (product, promotion, pricing, and channel) for a defined portfolio of products to drive sales and margin expansionResponsible for the assigned product line (product, promotion, pricing, and channel) for a defined portfolio of products to drive sales and margin expansionMonitors sales and margin results and tracks and recommends appropriate actionsDevelop and manage the product portfolio strategyLead the multi-generational product roadmap development process in line with division strategic PlansSupports Winovation new product development processDefining customer requirements/needs and government & regulatory standardsSupport Global Product PlatformsOwnership of the product life cycle Management of the product portfolioComplexity analysis & reductionManage product end-of-life cycleApply POP (Parker Operating Principle)Support Simple by DesignParticipates in the development and implementation of appropriate response strategies.Develops and leads IME strategies (existing product innovations/modifications/extensions).Develop product value propositions and be accountable for new product launchesInvestigates market needs for innovative products and works with Engineering to appropriately prioritize product development efforts for the product line.Support Customer SegmentationConducts market research through trade associations, internet investigation and corporate services. Develop and present product training to field sales, customers and end usersSupport field sales with information on products and applicationsSupport field sales with technical or commercial strategies to drive growthMonitors competitors' position, action and productsConduct competitive analysis of product linesDevelop and monitor competitive positioning analysisMaintain product literature, catalogs, technical bulletins, etc.Manage competitive Cross-Over Attend customer visits, sales conferences, trade shows, as required. Qualifications Qualifications: Four-year degree, preferably in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Business discipline, MBA desiredMinimum Four (4) years product management, field sales, or engineering experience in life sciences or related industryStrong computer skills (Microsoft Office Applications, Salesforce) Strong verbal and written communication skillsStrong analytical skills Demonstrated ability to organize and manage multiple priorities using effective problem solving / resolution skills and a team focusTravel up to 25% Key Performance Indicators (KPI) Complete understanding of product design and performance capabilitiesIn depth knowledge of customers, applications, and value propositionsSales and Gross Margin/Net Manufacturing Margin for product portfolioProduct Portfolio Complexity & SimplificationSimple by Design Savings / Product Cost OutAged and Obsolete Inventory for product portfolioNew Product Launch Performance to Business CaseSale Price Index (SPI) - mature / End of life (EOL) products Parker Hannifin Parker Hannifin is a Fortune 250 global leader in motion and control technologies.
