Product Lifecycle Electrical Engineer, Data Center Electrical Products and Services

About the Role

AWS Infrastructure Services is responsible for the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure, ensuring the cloud runs smoothly. We support AWS data centers and manage servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment. The Electrical Products and Services team within Infrastructure Services and Data Center Engineering focuses on developing resilient electrical distribution products and systems, driving operational and financial benefits for AWS and its customers.

Responsibilities

• Review, update, and approve equipment submittals.
• Collaborate with global electrical equipment suppliers and manufacturers.
• Build trust and relationships with stakeholders such as reliability, operations, design, and compliance teams.
• Manage concurrent projects across multiple geographic zones.
• Explain complex systems clearly and concisely.
• Provide support to Field Engineering for root cause analysis, component-level investigations, maintenance, troubleshooting, and operating procedure reviews.
• Listen to customer feedback to identify product improvements for reliability and availability.
• Work with suppliers and manufacturers to design product improvements and oversee root cause analysis.
• Contribute to the global body of knowledge and drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience developing electrical and/or electronics products and launching them into production.
• 5+ years of experience with systems or components including wiring, connectors, relays, circuit breakers, switchgear, and/or transformers.

Preferred Qualifications

• Ability to design for manufacturability, create assembly specifications, and work with contract manufacturers.
• Knowledge of electrical codes such as NEC, NFPA, UL891, UL508, ANSI C37, IEC 62271, or IEC61439.
• Experience with electronics, including instrumentation control schematics and integration of electronic components.
• Understanding of typical data center designs/architectures and industry trends.

Pay

The base salary range for this position is $116,800.00 - $160,000.00 USD annually, depending on location. The package includes sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation is based on experience, qualifications, and location.

Schedule

Intermittent travel is required, expected to be around 30%, with some international travel possible.
