Your responsibilities

  • Customer & Plant Liaison: Act as the first point of contact for the clients and a technical resource for all plants regarding quality, logistics, and product/process engineering.
  • Product Support & Investigation: Investigate field failures and damaged parts at warehouses across USA.
  • Design for Manufacturing: Work with Process Engineering to ensure production is feasible. Support cost-savings ideas based on the studies for design changes to optimize the process, keeping the product requirements.
  • Project Management: Oversee technical assessments for customer quotes through the APQP process and manage timelines for new product launches or design changes.
  • Meetings & Communication: Attend daily meetings with the customer and internal teams to discuss quality investigations, Six Sigma projects, new product development (including packaging Danville) and test results.
  • Hands-on Investigation: Physically examine damaged parts in the plants and warehouses. Conduct root cause analysis on field failures reported by the customer.
  • Technical Documentation: Develop product drawings, record meeting notes, and maintain the "Resident Engineer Report" to keep all sides up to date.
  • Simulation & Testing: Support virtual analyses of fatigue tests (Torsion and bending) and crankshaft balancing to ensure compliance with customer specifications.
  • Ensures both the client and the company are up to date on important projects and issues.
  • Identifies issues and takes appropriate action to provide solutions to the client in a timely manner.
  • Appropriately manages the transfer of information from company to client and vice versa.

Your profile

  • Education/Credentials/Certifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Six Sigma Certifications preferred.
  • Length of Experience: At least 5 years of experience in product engineering, experience in improvement with competencies in lean production, Six Sigma, and TPM preferred, Knowledgeable in production and product engineering, Knowledge of crankshaft and connection rod process, Excellent organizational skills, Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, Strong problem-solving ability, Strong mathematical ability, Ability to manipulate a hoist and hook, Great attention to detail, Ability to gain insight into other’s thoughts and reactions, Ability to cope with changes, Ability to multitask, Ability to travel frequently, Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion, Proficient in Microsoft Office.
