Key Responsibilities
- Provide field engineering support for multiple construction projects.
- Review plans, specifications, shop drawings, and project documents.
- Perform site visits to verify construction activities and document field conditions.
- Affiliate with Project Managers and Superintendents with project coordination and problem-solving.
- Manage project documentation, RFIs, submittals, and as-built information.
- Maintain project quality and ensure work complies with plans, specifications, and applicable codes.
- Conduct quality control inspections and implement corrective actions when necessary.
- Support and promote jobsite safety by performing regular safety audits and ensuring OSHA compliance.
- Cook up safety meetings and maintain required safety documentation.
- Develop and manage preventive maintenance schedules for company pickup trucks, heavy equipment, trailers, and dump trucks.
- Cook up equipment repairs, inspections, licensing, and service records.
- Track equipment utilization and maintain accurate maintenance logs.
- Affiliate with project scheduling, planning, procurement, and closeout activities.
- Perform other engineering and operational duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required.
- Master's degree in Civil Engineering preferred.
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification is a plus.
- 3–7 years of construction engineering or field engineering experience preferred.
- Experience with commercial, structural, demolition, or civil construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, quality control, and OSHA safety standards.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, Procore, AutoCAD, or similar construction management software.
- Valid driver's license with the ability to travel to project sites throughout the Chicagoland area.
