About the role
SAP America, Inc. seeks a Product Expert responsible for the success, quality, cost management, and delivery of a product, product group, or complex project throughout the entire product lifecycle. This includes rolling out the product to the ecosystem with customers and partners at every opportunity.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the efficiency, effectiveness, and improvement of processes in your area.
- Monitor market tendencies and technology trends to identify growth opportunities for SAP.
- Analyze technology trends and customer requirements by engaging in ecosystem activities such as trade fairs, analyst conferences, and partner collaborations.
- Contribute to business case development, product vision, and product roadmap.
- Evaluate competitive products to ensure your product remains competitive in the market.
- Engage with customers and partners onsite, conduct interviews, and participate in events throughout North America to gather input for product definitions.
- Own and prioritize the product backlog to reflect customer, partner, and user needs, ensuring competitive advantage and increased value.
- Provide a holistic overview of the product backlog and ensure the product team and related Scrum teams understand it comprehensively.
- Develop and maintain a rollout plan with a long-term view of the product.
- Drive holistic product vision and design, ensuring all product teams understand it.
- Develop test cases, conduct expert testing, and validate planned and implemented scope to ensure high-quality software delivery.
- Accept or reject sprint results at the Scrum of Scrum level.
- Ensure the creation of product-related non-coded assets in cooperation with central teams such as Release Management, Production, and Governance.
- Ensure product delivery aligns with the solution strategy.
- Collect and incorporate early feedback from customers and stakeholders.
- Ensure usable software is available at the end of every sprint.
- Keep internal stakeholders and the external ecosystem informed of developments by working closely with stakeholders and customer groups.
- Live innovative thinking and contribute to related communities.
- Identify opportunities and drive innovation in respective topics and domains.
- Actively follow and share developments and trends regarding new SAP and complementary partner services, industry trends, and other relevant topics.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field, plus seven (7) years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or related occupation.
- Alternatively, a Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field, plus five (5) years of experience in the job offered or related occupation.
- Five (5) years of experience involving:
- Working with internal and external stakeholders at management and executive levels, including steering committee updates.
- Working in a complex product portfolio landscape with solution knowledge of SAP’s industry solutions and Technology platform.
- Three (3) years of experience in:
- Defining and managing projects, deliverables, and outcomes.
- Driving strategic topics with a complex matrix of internal and external stakeholders.
- Working with the SAP Partner Ecosystem at the management level for growth areas like BTP and AI.
Schedule
- Up to 30% domestic and international travel required for product rollouts, hands-on trainings, and product bootcamps at partner offices on a quarterly basis.
- Organization, preparation, and running of customer and partner events in various settings on a quarterly basis.
Pay
The annual base salary range for this position is $180,564 - $306,844. The targeted combined compensation range (base salary + variable incentive) is $220,200 - $374,200. The actual offer will be within that range and dependent on education, skills, experience, scope of the role, and location.
