What Will You Do?
- Responsible for product design, documentation and support for LNG & H2 vehicle fuel systems.
- Responsible for product structures, bills of material and manufacturing drawings.
- Initiates and manages changes via the Engineering Change Request process.
- Makes necessary changes in design and/or drawings utilizing 3D CAD software.
- Provides technical information and specifications for components, assemblies and final products.
- Fulfills a 5-phase release process for new product introduction (ie: APQP).
- Supports interdepartmental teams to evaluate manufacturability of products, improve production efficiency, assess tooling requirements, and estimate labor/material.
- Provides direct manufacturing support to resolve production problems.
- Supports and provides engineering documentation for technical inquiries from customers.
- Defines and communicates product /component specifications to suppliers for new products or special customer projects.
- Works with interdepartmental teams to ensure continuous compliance to ISO 9001, TS 16949 and IATF 16949 standards.
- Involves in relevant standards organizations (ISO, NFPA, SAE etc.).
- Observes and practices safety procedures and policies.
Your Physical Work Environment Will Require
- Frequent standing, sitting and walking.
- Frequent lifting up to 25 lbs., occasional heavier lifting.
- Frequent computer work.
- Hands on to include working on different types of trucks.
Working Conditions
- Production factory support and office environment.
- Work related travel may be required (2 to 4 times per year).
- Possible travel to customer sites to gather data or work on various projects.
Work Hazards
- Production floor environment will involve possible exposure to materials with rough edges, temperature extremes, moving mechanical parts, occasional flying debris, chemical cleaning solvents and their odors.
- Working with cryogenic products will involve possible exposure to pressurized flammable gas, pressurized oxidizing gas, pressurized inert gas and very low temperatures (-320º F).
Your Experience Should Be
- BS degree required, preferably in Mechanical Engineering.
- A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
- Ideal candidate has experience in the heavy truck or automotive industry as an OEM supplier or OEM manufacturer.
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Highly motivated self-starter and a team player.
- Customer service orientation.
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Proven experience with 3D modeling and design utilizing AutoCAD/Inventor and/or SolidWorks.
- Exposure to JD Edwards or similar manufacturing software.
- Basic Understanding of Cryogenic Liquids and their properties a plus.
- Understanding of heat transfer and vacuum insulation.
- Heavy truck, automotive or diesel engine experience as related to fuel delivery and electrical systems a plus.
- Experience with APQP, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plans, etc a plus.
- Experience with FEA a plus.
