The Opportunity
To continually strengthen its base and support its growth in the US, LG Electronics is extending its HVAC Research and Innovation capabilities. We are seeking a Product Development Engineer II to join our HVAC R&D Center located in Alpharetta, Georgia.
The Product Development Engineer will develop expertise in the manufacturing and development of LGE HVAC equipment to provide better value to its customers, where you will conduct research and development based on analytical thinking and market understanding.
- Provide HVAC Engineering insight and improvement solution for new HVAC product development.
- Screens, analyzes, and supports new HVAC product performance, and provides recommendations for next steps.
- Statistically evaluates, interprets, and supports collected product data.
- Evaluates, analyzes, and supports data collected from field-based testing data using statistical approach.
- Reviews shortcomings and faults of current design to pinpoint weaknesses and improvement points.
- Communicates and supports various HVAC R&D and factory laboratories to provide US usage-based engineering and design statistics.
- Understands and supports acquisition hardware/software to create acquisition models for lab purpose.
- Assists in preparation for service manual, installation manual, and engineering manual for US commercialization after product launch.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- 3+ years of experience.
- HVAC experience is preferred.
- Exposure to a variety of manufacturing processes and designing for manufacturability.
- Ability to multi-task and operate independently.
- Experience with one of the following agency certifications (CSA, UL, or DOE) is a plus.
- Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal problem solving, and analytical skills.
- 3D CAD software knowledge and interpreting drawings with knowledge in GD&T.
- Proficient, high-level skills in Microsoft Power Point and Excel with macro for programming.
