About The Role
The Product Engineer IV Mechanical Wastewater plays a critical role in the design, development, and optimization of mechanical products specifically tailored for wastewater treatment applications. Responsibilities
- Lead the mechanical design and development of wastewater treatment products, ensuring compliance with industry standards and customer specifications.
- Conduct detailed engineering analysis, including stress, fatigue, and fluid dynamics assessments to validate product performance and durability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define product requirements, develop prototypes, and oversee testing and validation activities.
- Identify and implement design improvements to enhance product reliability, reduce manufacturing costs, and improve ease of assembly.
- Support manufacturing and quality teams by providing technical guidance, troubleshooting production issues, and driving corrective actions.
- Manage project timelines, documentation, and communication to ensure successful product launches and lifecycle management.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends to incorporate innovative solutions into product designs.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in mechanical product design and development, preferably within the wastewater or environmental engineering sector.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks or Creo for mechanical design and modeling.
- Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles including materials science, fluid mechanics, and thermodynamics.
- Experience with product testing, validation methods, and failure analysis.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Experience with wastewater treatment processes and related mechanical equipment such as pumps, valves, and mixers.
- Knowledge of industry standards and regulations relevant to wastewater treatment products (e.g., ANSI, ASME, NSF).
- Familiarity with finite element analysis (FEA) and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) tools.
- Project management certification or experience leading cross-functional engineering projects.
