Responsibilities

  • Certain positions may involve access to information and technology subject to export controls under U.S. law.
  • Perform calculations, feasibility studies, engineering evaluations, system modifications and upgrades to improve safety and reliability of nuclear power plant systems.
  • Review and check designs, drawings, and data prepared by other engineers.
  • Present and justify modification packages to quality and safety reviews.
  • Interface and work with equipment vendors as needed.
  • Evaluate conditions and develop design changes to improve plant performance, safety, and reliability.

Qualifications

  • Education: BS degree in mechanical engineering from an ABET accredited Engineering program.
  • Experience: 10 years (minimum) of experience with at least 4 of those years in the commercial nuclear power industry.
  • Knowledge: Understanding of the design and/or operation of PWR and/or BWR plants, including primary and secondary systems.
  • Skills: Proficiency in Mathcad, Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), excellent verbal and written communication skills, effective time management, and ability to pass security and drug screening.
  • Other: Ability to perform walk downs of equipment in an industrial plant environment, to include climbing ladders, accessing security-controlled areas, and entering confined spaces and controlled hazardous areas.
