Product Engineer (180k-240k + Equity) NYC

About the role

Join Conveo.ai, a YC-backed company in active growth, as a Senior Product Engineer. You will work closely with the CTO, Maarten, shaping the product direction and driving impactful projects.

Responsibilities

• Work backwards from the user's problem, owning the full stack from interface to infrastructure.
• Lead frontend architecture in React and TypeScript, ensuring quality components, state management, and performance.
• Ship complete, polished features end-to-end, including AI-powered ones built on LLM APIs, prompt engineering, and async pipelines.
• Engage in customer calls to interpret needs, form a clear point of view, and make scoped product decisions.
• Use AI throughout the development process, from reasoning to testing, and contribute to tool design.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience building full-stack applications with TypeScript and Node.js.
• Strong backend experience: designing APIs, working with PostgreSQL, and managing background jobs and async workflows.
• Solid frontend skills with React.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS and/or GCP).
• Experience building AI-driven applications (e.g., prompt engineering, working with LLM APIs, and/or fine-tuning experience are a plus).
• Can independently lead projects from concept to launch.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English with a keen eye for detail.
• A collaborative mindset, able to work autonomously in a small, fast-paced team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Passionate about using AI to solve complex problems.
• Experience with React Router v7 or Remix.
• Experience at a small, fast-moving SaaS company where you’ve been client-facing.
• Exposure to market research or qualitative research tooling.
• Experience shipping agentic AI systems to production and can speak to failure modes, evaluations, and tool design.
