Product Engineer (180k-240k + Equity) - NYC

What we're building and why

We're building an AI research platform called Conveo that helps global brands like Unilever, Google, and Orange generate insights across marketing and product teams. Our platform uses AI video interviewers to make traditional research faster, cheaper, and more insightful.

What you'll do

• Work backwards from the user's problem, shaping what gets built and influencing product direction.
• Lead frontend architecture in React and TypeScript, setting the quality bar for components, state management, and performance.
• Ship complete, polished features end-to-end, including AI-powered ones built on LLM APIs, prompt engineering, and async pipelines.
• Join customer calls to form a clear point of view on what to build, translate feedback into scoped product decisions, and follow through.
• Use AI throughout your work, reasoning, building, reviewing, and testing at every stage.

What you'll bring

• 6+ years of experience building full-stack applications with TypeScript and Node.js.
• Strong backend experience: designing APIs, working with PostgreSQL, and managing background jobs and async workflows.
• Solid frontend skills with React.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS and/or GCP).
• Experience building AI-driven applications (e.g., prompt engineering, working with LLM APIs, and/or fine-tuning experience are a plus).
• Can independently lead projects from concept to launch.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English with a keen eye for detail.
• A collaborative mindset, able to work autonomously in a small, fast-paced team.

Bonus

• Experience with React Router v7 or Remix.
• Experience at a small, fast-moving SaaS company where you’ve been client-facing.
• Exposure to market research or qualitative research tooling.
• You've shipped agentic AI systems to production and can speak to failure modes, evaluations, and tool design.
