Product Analyst
About the role
PEMCO is seeking a Product Analyst to join our team. This role requires applicants to reside and be able to work from the specified states: WA, OR, ID, TX, OH, FL, SC, NC, or IL, with occasional travel to our Seattle headquarters.
Responsibilities
- Manage expectations; prioritize own workload and communicate status.
- Perform semi-complex analysis to evaluate the performance of and identify trends and issues for our products and make actionable recommendations for improvements.
- Document system workflows and business processes.
- Contribute to the achievement of short and long-term strategies to achieve profitable growth leveraging quantitative and qualitative data.
- Compile and submit materials for rate and form filings.
- Build tools to create efficiencies, especially in analyzing metrics.
- Auxiliary in product and rating reviews.
- Plan and manage small to medium scale projects.
- Query databases to generate scheduled and ad hoc reports and analysis to support department goals.
- Demonstrate behaviors consistent with PEMCO's policies, values, code of ethics and business conduct.

Requirements
- B.A. or B.S. degree or equivalent work experience (Business, Economics, mathematics, or other quantitative fields of study).
- 1 year of experience in the property and casualty insurance industry is required.
- 3+ years of experience in analytical roles pricing insurance products or similar work is required.
- Problem Solver: Ability to analyze, diagnose and resolve complex unstructured problems quickly, efficiently, and collaboratively is required.
- Precision: Is detail orientated and has a strong desire for accuracy and thoroughness is required.
- MS Office: Skilled proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook is required.
- Experience in SQL and SQL Server is required.
- Highly Analytical: Is passionate about working with disparate datasets bringing data together to answer business questions. Collaborates to create, manage, and translate data to meaningful insights. Can work with external vendors to integrate data for analysis; knows how to build efficient and scalable infrastructure and data models is required.
- Communicator: The ability to communicate clearly and informatively, verbally and in writing, with colleagues, customers, and the community in both technical and non-technical professional language is required.
- Analytical and data-driven: Thinks analytically; a structured thinker who can put complex ideas into clear frameworks; uses data to conduct root cause analysis and develops high quality, consumable, and consistent metrics that drive strategic objectives and priorities is required.
- Job specific: Experience in data visualization, PowerBI, and Tableau is preferred.
- Compliance: Knowledge and understanding of relevant laws, rules, and regulations.

Pay
The pay range for this role is shown below. Compensation decisions are determined based on an individual’s qualifications, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Greater Seattle area target pay range: $96,147-$117,513. The full pay range is $80,123-133,538. Outside greater Seattle area target pay range: $84,852-$103,708. The full pay range is $70,710-$117,850. Greater Seattle Area is defined as working within approximately 100 miles of Seattle. Outside Greater Seattle is defined as working approximately 100 miles or more from Seattle.
Schedule
Regular part-time PEMCO employees working at least 24 hours per week and regular full-time PEMCO employees are eligible to elect coverage under medical, dental, and vision plans for themselves and their eligible family members with generous employer premium cost shares.
