Producing Branch Manager – Builder / Joint Venture

About the role

SWBC is seeking a talented individual to lead and grow a mortgage branch operating within a builder-aligned and/or joint venture (JV) environment. This role is responsible for providing day-to-day leadership and oversight of branch operations while also personally originating residential mortgage loans to achieve individual and branch production goals.

Responsibilities

  • Manages the staff and activities involved in the day-to-day administration of a mortgage lending branch supporting builder and/or joint-venture production.
  • Maintains compliance with company policies, investor guidelines, and all applicable federal, state, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintains appropriate staffing levels and workflows to meet customer service and production expectations.
  • Oversees work schedules, conducts performance evaluations, and provides coaching, counseling, and corrective action as needed.
  • Solves personnel-related issues in a professional and policy-compliant manner.
  • Develops and implements branch-level mortgage sales and profitability plans with emphasis on builder-supported and partner-referred business.
  • Responsible for producing personal loan volume at or above established target expectations.
  • Supports and strengthens relationships with builder and JV partners through consistent communication and service delivery.
  • Promotes referral and relationship-based business while ensuring full adherence to RESPA, advertising, and affiliate relationship requirements.
  • Oversees branch financial performance, expense awareness, and productivity metrics.
  • Monitors sales activity, pipeline health, conversion ratios, and customer experience outcomes.
  • Communicates effectively with Senior Management regarding performance trends and best practices.
  • Provides training, coaching, and professional development for branch employees.
  • Promotes compliance awareness and reinforces documentation discipline.
  • Maintains a professional, ethical, and customer-focused branch culture.

Requirements

  • Active NMLS License in the State of Texas (other states are a plus)
  • Some college coursework in Business, Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent mortgage industry experience
  • Active and applicable state mortgage licensing, including required continuing education
  • Minimum five (5) years of mortgage lending, loan origination, or related experience
  • Minimum two (2) years of supervisory, management, or training experience
  • Minimum two (2) years of working in a builder/mortgage joint venture or builder owned mortgage company
  • Working knowledge of mortgage products, origination workflows, and regulatory requirements
  • Strong interpersonal, leadership, organizational, and analytical skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated commitment to superior customer service
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and general office equipment
  • Able to sit for extended periods and perform light physical office tasks
  • Able to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while maintaining professionalism
  • Able and willing to travel locally and nationally as needed

Qualifications
