About the role
The Procurement, Superintendent reports to the Director, Supply Chain. The role is responsible for managing suppliers of goods and services, ensuring compliance with agreements, and maintaining compliance with Hudbay’s policies.
Responsibilities
- Procure goods and services through commercial and technical evaluations of competing proposals.
- Manage supplier relationships, driving continuous performance improvement via relevant key metrics (e.g., SHE, Schedule, Cost).
- Oversee all aspects of tender management, from prequalification to award of orders.
- Handle commercial correspondence with vendors efficiently.
- Liaise with end-users/internal clients/requestors to ensure commitments and milestones are achieved, and with suppliers to expedite progress.
- Escalate complex functional/technical issues to the Procurement Manager or Project Manager, as necessary.
- Provide coaching, support, and guidance to other team members to ensure delivery of results.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, supply chain management, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of procurement or related experience (preferred).
- Experience in a similar role within Engineering, Mining, or Construction industries.
- Experience in capital procurement.
- Full MS Office or Google suite packages at minimum intermediate level.
Qualifications
- Physical demands: Regular sitting, walking, and standing; frequent use of eye, hand, and finger coordination; oral and auditory.
- Work environment: Normal office environment with occasional climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and balancing.
