Procurement Specialist
About the role
A Procurement Specialist oversees the management of day-to-day activities associated with both National and Regional vendors that are contracted and managed by procurement. This role assists with customer service and external vendor relations activities. The position also includes setting up vendor services at new stores; troubleshooting and solving account problems; and other tasks and projects as assigned.
Responsibilities
- Covers the onboarding and closure of supplier services
- Updates and maintains records associated with assigned vendors
- Works with vendors and accounts payables to reconcile invoice discrepancies
- Maintains and documents the status of supplier accounts on an ongoing basis
- Handles internal procurement customer service and external vendor relations
- Troubleshoots and solves account problems as they arise; adapts quickly to change

Education and/or Experience
Related Associates degree from an accredited College or University; and minimum two years administrative experience. Real estate, construction, purchasing background is helpful.
Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Computer Skills
- Intermediate understanding of Microsoft Office Suite, including: Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Mathematical Skills
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
- Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
Reasoning Ability
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is required to stand; walk; sit; walk stairs; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
