Procurement Project Manager (Contract Position)

About the role

The Procurement Project Manager (Contract Position) supports Airbus projects and operations across the North America region. They are part of the Airbus Americas Strategic Procurement team and based in Mobile, Alabama, reporting to the Director, Flying Parts Procurement.

Responsibilities

• Interface and coordinate with stakeholders involved in FAL ramp-up initiatives, Mobile Ecosystem, and key transformation programs.
• Manage priority conflicts with a logical, organized approach.
• Ensure delivery of smooth, sustainable procurement project execution while fostering strong, collaborative relationships.
• Lead the Procurement workstream within cross-functional projects, driving effective regional and global coordination.
• Propose, develop, and apply program/product strategy towards customers.
• Escalate issues requiring senior management input to maintain project progress.
• Ensure all program/project targets (product quality & delivery schedule, financial objectives, including Profit & Loss) are met.
• Design and implement progress reports for projects under management, using Airbus reporting tools.
• Provide intelligence to Procurement management team and identify potential opportunities/risks.
• Deliver successfully all projects.

Procurement Process, tools & best practice driver

• Drive compliance to Airbus processes through strong communication with internal customers.
• Support change management in the frame of activities.
• Resolve procurement process blockages and recommend solutions to operational and contractual problems.
• Organize and run compliance and best practices awareness for procurement/internal customer communities.
• Support resolution of procurement tools blockages (i.e. SAP, Ariba, Coupa, Oracle, etc).
• Support local tools deployment.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration (Master's degree preferred) or a related field.
• PMP certification.
• Minimum 5-7 years' experience in Project management or related functions.
• Knowledge of Risk Management & Business Case Analysis & TCO Approach.
• Procurement process.
• Project Management.
• Demonstrated effectiveness as a participant and leader on a work-focused team.
• Strong adherence to ethics & compliance.

• Expert user of Google Suite Tools.
• Advanced knowledge of enterprise systems, including SAP, Coupa and associated transactional systems.

Skills

• Fluency in written and verbal English.
• Fluency in French, German and/or Spanish is a plus.
