About the role
The Procurement Associate II position is located in North Chicago, IL 60064. This is a 12-month contract role with potential for extension or conversion.
Responsibilities
- Lead strategic sourcing initiatives for indirect and/or direct procurement categories.
- Manage supplier negotiations from initial sourcing through contract execution.
- Review, negotiate, and redline supplier agreements in partnership with Legal.
- Negotiate Master Service Agreements (MSAs), Statements of Work (SOWs), amendments, and other commercial agreements.
- Lead RFP/RFQ processes, including supplier identification, proposal evaluation, commercial analysis, and supplier selection.
- Collaborate with Procurement, Legal, Finance, Operations, and business stakeholders to drive sourcing decisions and contract execution.
- Evaluate supplier performance, pricing, commercial terms, and risk to support strategic procurement decisions.
- Manage contract renewals, expiration timelines, and supplier transitions while minimizing business risk.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance procurement processes and customer experience.
- Promote compliance with procurement policies, preferred supplier programs, and contracting standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, or a related field preferred (equivalent experience will be considered).
- Approximately 5–7 years of procurement, strategic sourcing, or contract management experience.
- Demonstrated experience negotiating supplier contracts and commercial agreements.
- Hands-on experience reviewing and redlining contracts while partnering with Legal.
- Experience negotiating or supporting: Master Service Agreements (MSAs), Statements of Work (SOWs), Supplier Agreements, Amendments.
- Experience leading RFP/RFQ sourcing events.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
Preferred Qualifications
- Indirect Procurement experience (highly preferred).
- Direct Procurement experience will also be considered.
- Coupa Contract Management experience.
- Experience working with Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) platforms.
- Facilities Procurement or Corporate Services Procurement experience.
- SAP, Oracle, or other enterprise procurement systems.
