Procurement and Operations Specialist

About the Role

Athena Security is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Purchasing & Logistics Specialist to manage purchasing, vendor relationships, inventory, forecasting, and domestic and international logistics.

Responsibilities

• Manage purchasing, purchase orders, vendor relationships, and supplier negotiations.
• Forecast material and inventory requirements based on demand, lead times, and operational needs.
• Monitor inventory levels and proactively prevent shortages, excess inventory, and delays.
• Coordinate domestic and international shipments, freight, and deliveries.
• Manage international shipping and customs documentation, including import/export requirements, duties, tariffs, and customs clearance.
• Track purchase orders and shipments and resolve delays, discrepancies, damages, and delivery issues.
• Maintain accurate SKU, inventory, vendor, purchasing, and shipping records.
• Coordinate RMAs, returns, replacements, and vendor credits.
• Work closely with Operations, Finance, Sales, Installation, warehouses, suppliers, and logistics partners.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and improve purchasing and logistics processes.
• Ensure purchasing and logistics activities comply with company policies and applicable regulations.

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, supply chain, logistics, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of vendor management, purchasing, inventory control, and freight coordination.
• Experience with ERP/MRP or inventory management systems.
• Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple purchase orders, vendors, shipments, and deadlines.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Ability to proactively identify and resolve supply chain issues.
