Procurement Operations Specialist
About the role
We are partnering with a well-established leader in the transportation and logistics industry seeking a Procurement Operations Specialist to join their team on a contract-to-permanent basis. This position is based in the South Seattle/West Seattle area and requires 3-4 days per week onsite. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys building structure, improving processes, and serving as the operational backbone of a procurement function.
Responsibilities
- Manage purchase order creation, revisions, and lifecycle activities
- Ensure purchase orders are accurate and aligned with contracts, pricing, payment terms, and coding requirements
- Maintain vendor records and supplier onboarding documentation
- Support contract setup, contract administration, and procurement system updates
- Partner with Accounts Payable to resolve invoice discrepancies and improve process efficiency
- Validate financial coding, cost centers, approvals, and procurement compliance requirements
- Collaborate with Finance, Legal, Operations, and internal stakeholders on procurement initiatives
- Track procurement metrics and identify opportunities for process improvements
- Aid in supplier onboarding, catalog management, and procurement system enhancements
- Assist with operational projects and continuous improvement initiatives across the procurement function
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience in procurement, purchasing, sourcing support, procurement operations, or a related function
- Strong understanding of purchase-to-pay (P2P) processes
- Experience with purchase orders, vendor management, supplier onboarding, and invoicing workflows
- Experience working cross-functionally with Finance, Accounts Payable, Legal, and business stakeholders
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage data accurately
- Comfortable navigating ambiguity and changing priorities
- Process improvement mindset with a focus on operational excellence
- Experience with ERP or procurement systems such as IFS, SAP, Oracle, Coupa, Ariba, Workday, or similar platforms preferred
- Experience supporting indirect spend, detail oriented services, technology, or operational categories is a plus
Qualifications
- Preferred Experience: Procurement operations or procurement analytics experience, experience supporting indirect spend categories, detail oriented services, technology, or operational procurement, experience partnering with Finance, Accounts Payable, Legal, and business leaders, experience within transportation, logistics, supply chain, manufacturing, industrial, or related environments, experience with procurement platforms such as IFS, SAP, Oracle, Ariba, Coupa, Workday, or similar systems

- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
