About the role
Serves as a liaison between the University community and vendors on matters relating to purchase orders. Responsible for the procurement of a wide variety of commodities and services in accordance with state, local laws and regulations, and University policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Prepares and processes purchase orders and change orders.
- Procures commodities and services in accordance with State law and University rules, regulations, and policies.
- Assists with preparing and/or reviewing documented quotes.
- Processes and monitors sole source requests, piggyback agreements, and TCM contracts.
- Makes recommendations on purchasing actions and methods, and prepares and maintains supporting documentation.
- Monitors University, State, and Local contracts, and other higher education purchasing consortium contracts utilized by the University.
- Serves as a liaison between user departments and vendors.
- Orients University community to State and University purchasing rules, regulations, and policies to ensure compliance.
- Acquires and maintains a thorough working knowledge of the purchasing support systems available to the University, including the University Card program and PeopleSoft system.
- Attends meetings and training as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree and three (3) years of related experience or Master's degree and one (1) year of related experience.
- Required to spend 50% or more of time operating a computer.
Pay
$50,000 - $55,000
