Processing Supervisor
About the role
The Division of Traffic Operations' Automated Enforcement Unit seeks to hire two (2) Principal Administrative Associate Level 2 supervisors to oversee red light, fixed speed, mobile speed, bus lane, and MTA's ACE bus lane camera operations processing unit.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and be responsible for camera technicians reviewing camera footage of proposed violations and approving or rejecting them.
- Oversee the issuance process of all Notices of Liability (NOLs) for red light, bus, speed camera, weigh-in-motion, and MTA double parking, bus stop, and bus lane violations.
- Perform random quality assurance checks, prepare statistical reports, and troubleshoot technical issues as they arise from the staff.
- Ensure that the processors are following written procedures for the issuance of these violations.
- Perform administrative duties such as scheduling, timesheets, overtime monitoring, and other human resources functions that come with supervising employees.
Requirements
- A baccalaureate degree and three years of satisfactory full-time progressively responsible clerical/administrative experience, one year of which must have been in an administrative capacity or supervising staff performing clerical/administrative work of more than moderate difficulty;
- An associate degree or 60 semester credits and four years of satisfactory full-time progressively responsible clerical/administrative experience including one year of the administrative supervisory experience described in "1" above;
- A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent and five years of satisfactory full-time progressively responsible clerical/administrative experience including one year of the administrative supervisory experience as described in "1" above;
- Education and/or experience equivalent to "1", "2", or "3" above, with all candidates possessing one year of administrative or supervisory experience as described in "1" above.
Preferred Skills
- Candidate must possess leadership qualities and excellent verbal and writing skills.
- Knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong emphasis on knowledge of traffic rules and regulations and traffic enforcement.
- Candidate should have experience dealing with the public.

New York City residency is generally required within 90 days of appointment. However, City Employees in certain titles who have worked for the City for 2 continuous years may also be eligible to reside in Nassau, Suffolk, Putnam, Westchester, Rockland, or Orange County.
