Our integrated operations include hatching chicks, growing and maintaining flocks of pullets, layers, and breeders, manufacturing feed, and producing, processing, packaging, and distributing shell eggs. We sell most of our shell eggs in the southwestern, southeastern, mid-western, and mid-Atlantic regions of the U.S.

About the Role

The Processing Supervisor is a management position responsible for supervising hourly staff and ensuring all processing tasks are completed, including the proper grading of eggs, monitoring maintenance and safety programs for machinery, and other duties as assigned. This role enforces all duties, policies, and procedures related to general safety, food safety, and food quality.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises hourly employees including training, planning, assigning, and dispatching work, communicating expectations, evaluating performance, and addressing complaints or problems.
  • Directs workers engaged in product measurement, inspection, and testing activities to ensure quality control and reliability.
  • Communicates with management and user personnel to develop production and design standards and recommend methods for improving utilization of personnel, material, and utilities.
  • Applies statistical methods and performs mathematical calculations to determine manufacturing processes, staff requirements, and processing standards.
  • Coordinates with Production to design, develop, test, and evaluate integrated systems for egg processing, establish maintenance procedures, safety programs, and food safety systems.
  • Ensures continuous improvement in process, cost, quality, and production.
  • Monitors compliance with organizational policies, occupational health and safety practices, and all applicable regulations; completes documentation accurately.
  • Fulfills additional tasks as assigned by the Processing Manager and General Manager.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) from a four-year college or university, or three to five years of experience and/or training.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Bilingual in Spanish/English preferred.
  • Availability for night shifts, weekends, and holidays when applicable.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced setting and adapting to changing priorities.
  • Ability to balance multiple projects and operations in a continuously changing environment.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word) preferred.
  • Ability to lead a small team.
  • Forklift trained or certified.
  • Good communication skills.
