Processing Assistant IV
Richmond County Health Department is seeking to hire a full-time Processing Assistant IV.
About the role
The primary responsibilities include registering all clients that present themselves for services and filling out the appropriate forms as needed. The employee will enter personal data, insurance information, and household contact information into the Patagonia computer system. This position also acts as a personal data/financial interviewer for non-Medicaid clients, as well as for BCCCP Program, Sickle Cell, Dental, and Community Care Clinics.
While interviewing, the employee will handle sensitive personal information and is responsible for protecting its confidentiality, adhering to all HIPAA guidelines and standards. Duties include documentation of problem identifications, clinic verifications, and financial information. A high level of knowledge regarding clinic programs and agency guidelines is essential. Billing for services rendered and collecting payments are also included.
Responsibilities
- Register clients and complete appropriate forms for requested services
- Enter personal data, insurance information, and household contact information into the Patagonia computer system
- Act as a personal data/financial interviewer for non-Medicaid clients and specific programs (BCCCP, Sickle Cell, Dental, Community Care Clinics)
- Protect the confidentiality of sensitive personal information in compliance with HIPAA guidelines

Requirements
- High school graduate
- 1 year of clerical work experience
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- Knowledge of basic math skills
- Excellent filing skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with staff and the public
- Ability to spell, print, and write legibly
- Basic data processing skills for working with the department's computer system
- Proficient typing and calculator skills
Qualifications
Bilingual preferred.
