Process Technologist

Responsibilities

The Process Technologist at the Martinsville, VA site supports the Performance Films business. Key responsibilities include:

• Leading technical efforts to support manufacturing processes
• Interacting with and seeking feedback from operators on the manufacturing floor
• Acting as a resource for identifying and aiding in the execution of capital projects
• Facilitating root cause analysis of process upsets, equipment failures, and customer complaints
• Maintaining operational documentation of manufacturing processes, asset capabilities, and capacities
• Ensuring product quality specifications are appropriately established and meeting customer fitness for use expectations
• Participating in cross-functional problem-solving and improvement teams at various levels
• Collaborating with new product development, product management, R&D, and customers to create and implement new materials/processes into large-scale manufacturing

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience required
• Experience in a manufacturing environment with a technical focus
• Experience with wet coating applications, convection drying, lamination, or Roll to Roll Web Technology preferred
• A methodical approach to problem-solving and ability to recognize and implement solutions independently
• Experience utilizing statistical methods to problem solve and evaluate complex issues
• Strong organizational skills, detail-oriented, able to multi-task, meet deadlines, and adapt in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
• The ability to effectively communicate at all organizational levels
• A bias for action mentality towards making changes that solve problems and have a positive impact on the process, products, and people
