Responsibilities

  • Perform all aspects of the injection molding process including setup, startup, shutdown, troubleshooting, equipment maintenance, and workflow.
  • Direct and monitor the execution of the production schedule as well as perform mold and/or material changes as dictated by the schedule.
  • Create cycle time reductions where possible.
  • Perform process troubleshooting, tooling setting, material setting, part inspections, and various other functions to ensure part conformity and quality.
  • Work with Engineering on current and new molds for alternative material sampling and new product sampling.
  • Verify documents, including startup and in-process product inspection sheets, process monitoring log, and changeover checklist.
  • Prepare and set up support equipment (e.g., circulators, grinders, thermolator, hot runner controller, material dryer, and material loader) as needed in the production area prior to startup.
  • Perform other duties as required within the nature and level of work.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent and five (5) years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience setting up and operating injection molding machines and auxiliary equipment, including robots.
  • Experience diagnosing process issues, making minor repairs, controlling quality, and maintaining high levels of uptime on machines.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand basic English.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word).
  • Ability to read measuring devices (e.g., micrometer, vernier calipers, Acu-Gauge).
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Master Molder certification preferred.

  • Must occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 35 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Pushing/pulling weight (assisted), up to 2 hours per day (interruptive).
  • Lifting weight, up to 35 lbs., up to 2 hours per day (interruptive).
