About the role
The Process Technician monitors, troubleshoots, and makes minor repairs on plastic or foam forming machines and auxiliary equipment. They diagnose and make process changes necessary to keep product in specification and ensure quality product is produced in a safe and efficient manner.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance and make regular repairs to ensure dependable and safe operation of machines and equipment.
- Proficient at troubleshooting and making repairs on all pertinent machines and auxiliary equipment to meet facility scrap and efficiency key measures.
- Document and implement corrective actions for part weights and process monitoring.
- Perform changeovers for related equipment in a timely and efficient manner.
- Maintain quality standards for all products in machine cell.
- Proficient in all safety and housekeeping requirements.
- Perform other duties as required.
Requirements
- Minimum of one-year stable and verifiable work history.
- Demonstrated mechanical capability and a minimum of two years’ experience in a technical related field (technical certificate preferred).
- High school diploma/GED required.
- Basic math skills.
- Working knowledge of hand and small power tools.
- Good communication skills to ensure clear and concise information is conveyed.
- Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals, documents, and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
- Good listener, able to receive instructions over two-way radios and other communication devices.
- Self-starter, self-motivated, and able to work independently.
- Ability to multi-task.
- Ability to become certified on operating forklift, scissor lift, snorkel lift, and overhead crane.
Working Conditions
- Occasional overtime and irregular hours.
- Reasonably clean production environment with constant exposure to noise.
- Frequent exposure to seasonal weather variations (hot or cold conditions), particularly on the receiving floor and production areas.
- Physical exertion including pushing, pulling, kneeling, or heavy lifting up to 50 pounds.
Schedule
Night Shift: 2-2-3 rotating split, 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM.
