Responsibilities

  • Research, process flow design, and develop foam fabrication manufacturing processes to optimize productivity and workflow (workstation).
  • Collaborate with NPI (Industrial Engineering) for new process and product development.
  • Design machine/equipment and process manufacturing/material flow.
  • Work with Operations to evaluate procedures and recommend improvement solutions.
  • Collect data (time studies, scrap, downtime) as a Process Technician.
  • Create and develop Sequence Work Instructions (SWI) to standardize common processes and ensure consistent, stable manufacturing.
  • Investigate and troubleshoot problems with processes, procedures, and operations.
  • Collaborate with other plant process engineers on integrating new and existing processes or best practices (OEE, Scrap, MUV, CI Budget goals).
  • Support systems and procedures for equipment repair and maintenance.
  • Train shift floor leads on equipment SOPs and SWIs alongside production supervisors and HR.
  • Ensure process audits are conducted.
  • Maintain and develop SQDC standards.
  • Assist teams in implementing 6S and maintain a standard development and audit approach throughout the site.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an ABET-accredited university in engineering or a related sub-field (e.g., chemical, biochemical, industrial, or mechanical engineering).
  • Green Belt certification preferred.
  • Training in Lean Initiatives preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal, planning, and time management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team.
  • Proficiency with computer and information technology.
  • Specialized industry-specific training strongly preferred.
  • Thorough understanding of scientific and mathematical principles.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.

Skills

  • Proficient/Advanced user of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI).
  • Experience with Minitab or JMP statistical software preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of IATF 16949, ISO 14001, CELC, CTPAT, OEA, and safety standards.
