Process/Production Engineer

Responsibilities

• Actively support and promote safe work practices through the mill.
• Provides support for process improvement projects involving chemicals, mechanical improvements, support trails and investigations of new technologies.
• Supports the mill’s Key Performance Indicators (KPI) management system as required, including updating operator rounds, auditing operations for out-of-range process variables, and working with management and hourly employees to correct out-of-range KPI’s.
• Reviews daily production and quality data, analyzes production and operations issues.
• Implements manufacturing processes, troubleshoots process and equipment issues, collects and analyzes data.
• Manages trails, identifies process improvements.
• Aids key personnel in outage planning and operational scheduling.
• Analyzes weekly and monthly process trends.
• Responsible for weekend coverage on a rotation basis.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, or Pulp and Paper Science or other engineering discipline.
• 1-3 years of experience in paper manufacturing.
• Problem solving/technical skills.
• Computer skills to include Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
