About the Role
Acts as an in-house consultant for data and information needs to guide performance improvement. Advocates for patient safety and protects patients and providers by promoting safe practices and policies. Escalates patient safety concerns to appropriate leadership with honesty and integrity.
Responsibilities
- Define project scope to maintain focus and use measures to ensure interventions are sustained over time.
- Communicate regularly with stakeholders about progress toward goal achievement, critical factors, and obstacles.
Qualifications
Required
- Associate degree (Bachelor's preferred in a healthcare-related field).
- Ability to apply mature, independent judgment to situations that may arise.
- Frequent independent judgment required to deal with immediate problems; policies or procedures may not be available.
- Ability to influence and persuade teams, up to and including the executive level, to build consensus within and across stakeholder groups (high-level negotiation skills).
- Intermediate knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, Excel, PowerPoint, and database programs; beginning skills in analysis, problem-solving, and troubleshooting of databases and software.
- Ability to manage multiple competing priorities and issues to facilitate data needs.
- Ability to create professional presentations for executive leadership teams.
- Ability to function autonomously with little supervision.
- Exceptional problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Advanced Access database skills.
- Solid analytical, statistical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to conduct process mapping, root cause analysis, and statistical controls.
- Knowledge of quality and process improvement methodologies such as Lean Six Sigma.
- Ability to succinctly translate high-level concepts into actionable items.
- Awareness of basic project management concepts and methodologies.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Able to work independently under limited direction and manage multiple projects simultaneously while thriving in a setting requiring collaboration and teamwork.
- Ability to transfer clients' perceptions of problems into viable solutions; utilizes diplomacy skills and flexibility in response to clients' changing concerns.
Preferred
- Bachelor's degree in a healthcare-related field.
- 3+ years experience in data analytics/process improvement or healthcare setting.
- Experience in data collection, analysis, quality assurance, or computer programming.
- Knowledge of data extrapolation interpretation, and control chart compilation.
- DMAIC principles, including statistical and quantitative process.
- Ability to program, such as VBA or statistical programming.
- High proficiency with Minitab or similar statistical software package.
- High proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel, Visio, PowerPoint.
- Facilitation of various PI methodologies (Six Sigma, Lean, PDSA, etc.).
- Registered Nurse (RN) licensure.
- Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact - RN (ENLC-RN).
- Change Management Certification (PROSCI).
- Six Sigma certification.
