About the role

We are looking for a Process Engineering Intern to join our Jacobs Life Sciences group based in Cary, NC. The role is intended to be a hybrid position, with 2-5 days a week spent in the office. You will be paired with a process engineer peer mentor and be part of a project team, helping to complete project deliverables.

Responsibilities

• Learn how to read, understand, and develop deliverables including Process Flow Diagrams (PFD), Piping and Instrument Diagrams (P&ID), Equipment Lists, and Equipment Data Sheets.
• Participate in the Jacobs Life Sciences North America Process Training Program, which includes learning about different unit operations from Jacobs Subject Matter Experts.
• Gain access to a library of previously recorded training sessions and any new sessions during your internship.
• Communicate effectively with all levels of Jacobs staff and external stakeholders.
• Work independently and as part of a high-performing, multi-disciplinary team.
• Build connections and interact with interns across various departments to understand the broader office operations.
• Reflect and summarize your internship experience via a presentation to peers and the management team at the conclusion of the program.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Bio Engineering (or a related degree) from an accredited university.
• Rising Junior status or further along in your degree program.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
• Authorization to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship, now or in the future.
• Minimum 3.0 GPA.

Qualifications

• Previous design internship experience (preferred).
• Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Self-driven with excellent time management and organizational skills.
