About the Role
The Senior Process Improvement Engineer is responsible for identifying, analyzing, and optimizing operational processes across acute care operations to improve efficiency, quality, productivity, and organizational performance. This role partners with cross-functional teams and leadership to lead enterprise-wide process improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies while mentoring Process Improvement Engineers and driving sustainable operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities
- Process Improvement
- Analyze existing operational processes to identify improvement opportunities.
- Design and implement process improvement initiatives across acute care operations.
- Apply Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies to optimize workflows.
- Eliminate process inefficiencies and reduce operational waste.
- Develop sustainable solutions that improve quality, productivity, and efficiency.
- Operational Excellence
- Evaluate organizational workflows and operational performance.
- Support enterprise-wide initiatives focused on cost reduction and resource optimization.
- Improve labor utilization and operational productivity.
- Enhance consumer and patient experience through process optimization.
- Align improvement initiatives with organizational objectives.
- Data Analysis & Reporting
- Collect, interpret, and analyze operational performance data.
- Develop dashboards, reports, and executive presentations.
- Measure process improvement outcomes using key performance indicators.
- Present findings and strategic recommendations to senior leadership.
- Monitor project performance and ensure continuous improvement.
- Project Management
- Lead cross-functional process improvement projects from planning through implementation.
- Coordinate project timelines, milestones, and deliverables.
- Manage workflow redesign initiatives across multiple departments.
- Ensure successful implementation and long-term sustainability of improvements.
- Support organizational change through structured project execution.
- Leadership & Collaboration
- Mentor and provide guidance to Process Improvement Engineers.
- Facilitate training on Lean, Six Sigma, and process improvement methodologies.
- Collaborate with department leaders and multidisciplinary teams.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement across the organization.
- Support strategic initiatives through effective stakeholder engagement.
- Continuous Improvement & Change Management
- Lead change management initiatives that support operational transformation.
- Utilize benchmarking and performance measurement tools to identify best practices.
- Recommend innovative solutions to improve operational performance.
- Drive continuous improvement through data-driven decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with organizational quality and operational standards.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of five years of experience in process improvement engineering.
- Experience with process mapping, workflow analysis, and operational improvement.
- Strong project management and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple initiatives.
- Proficiency in data analysis and performance reporting.
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree in Industrial Engineering.
- Lean Six Sigma certification or equivalent continuous improvement certification.
- Experience with workflow redesign, labor management, and productivity improvement.
- Experience in healthcare operations or acute care environments.
- Knowledge of change management methodologies.
- Experience with benchmarking, business process redesign, and Vizient benchmarking.
- Experience implementing enterprise-wide operational improvement initiatives.
