Process Engineer II
About the role
The Process Engineer plays a critical leadership role in the expansion of a growing manufacturing facility. This position serves as the primary technical and operational liaison between project teams and plant operations during the introduction of a new major production asset, and then transitions into full process ownership once operational.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the on-site plant point of contact for all activities related to a new production asset during construction, installation, and startup.
- Provide technical leadership and plant integration support to ensure seamless transition from project execution to operations.
- Support equipment commissioning, startup readiness, and operational validation.
- Partner with internal and external stakeholders to resolve technical issues and ensure alignment with plant standards.
- Act as process owner once the asset is operational, accountable for achieving output, quality, material usage, energy efficiency, and safety targets.
- Establish and maintain robust systems for data collection, auditing, and preventive process control.
- Define and manage process setpoints for all product types and develop associated operational tools (SOPs, setup sheets, management systems).
- Lead root cause analysis using structured problem-solving methodologies (RCCA, 5-Why, Six Sigma-based tools) and drive corrective and preventive actions.
- Identify and lead process efficiency, quality, and cost-of-poor-quality improvement initiatives.
- Evaluate and implement new technologies to enhance current and future processes.
- Develop and refine process models in collaboration with technical specialists to optimize operational performance.
- Regularly review and optimize raw material specifications based on performance data.
- Train operators, engineers, and technicians on new equipment, processes, and documentation.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive process documentation and training materials.
- Build capability across the plant by cross-training on existing manufacturing assets and serving as technical backup as needed.
- Model safe behaviors and engage teams in safety improvement efforts.
- Share learnings proactively within the broader technical community and contribute to centers of excellence where applicable.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in industrial continuous process manufacturing (process engineering), plus hands-on troubleshooting experience
- Demonstrated success in identifying and implementing process improvements
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, including data analysis
- Solid project management and organizational skills
- Prowen ability to manage multiple priorities and lead projects to completion
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills
- Ability to work independently and lead cross-functional teams
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools
- Willingness to travel extensively as required
Preferred Experience
- With process control architecture and tuning
- Six Sigma or structured problem-solving methodology experience
- Background supporting equipment startups or major capital projects

Work Environment
This position operates primarily within a manufacturing environment and may involve exposure to varying temperatures, noise, moving equipment, heights, dust, fumes, and extensive walking or climbing.
Pay
Pay Range $94,100.00-$129,400.00 Annual. This is the base salary pay range that an applicant can expect to make upon hire. Pay within this range will vary based upon relevant experience, skills, and education among other factors. In addition, this position is eligible for an incentive bonus.
