Essential Duties & Key Responsibilities
- Performs a variety of engineering assignments in developing and implementing production/processing methods and controls to meet quality standards in the most cost-efficient manner.
- Troubleshoot manufacturing issues resolving production/work in process problems while optimizing efficiency and eliminating downtime.
- Works closely with the Quality Manager and Manufacturing Department leaders in identifying areas for improvement and high-value projects.
- Evaluates process flow and plant layout recommending and implementing improvements and/or modifications in sequence of operations and equipment utilization in order to improve throughput, reduce labor/manufacturing costs and improve safety.
- Reviews proposals of outside vendors regarding the purchase of new or modernized production/processing equipment and monitors equipment upgrades and improvements.
- Continuously monitors operations to ensure compliance with approved methods and quality standards.
- Serves as the key Operational Improvement project leader.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong technical and analytical ability – detail oriented
- Self-driven, appetite for Continuous Improvement
- Project and stakeholder management skills a must
- Firm examples of methodologies employed, and business results of specific projects or improvement initiatives completed.
- Industry Experience in Plating, Chemical or Metal manufacturing is hugely favorable for any candidate.
- Desired Six Sigma Green Belt +, PMP, CAP or CQE credentials, a plus
- Experience working with customers and sales is a plus.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Process or Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent experience
- A minimum of five (5) years of experience in a manufacturing environment
- Firm examples of methodologies employed, and business results of specific projects or improvement initiatives completed.
- Industry Experience in Plating, Chemical or Metal manufacturing is hugely favorable for any candidate.
