DETAILED ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develops and implements methods to improve existing processes through automation, process improvements, and new technologies.
- Partners with Control Engineers to optimize process controls, fine-tune control points, improve efficiency, and support product quality.
- Assists process superintendents and supervisors with troubleshooting process-related issues.
- Identifies and supports opportunities to improve energy efficiency across the process and refinery.
- Manages assigned process projects and tasks in alignment with process manager priorities.
- Follows all safety, environmental, food safety, and food security procedures.
- Performs lab testing and analysis to support process improvements.
- Learns and applies knowledge of sugar cane processing operations.
- Uses strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and SAP, to support engineering and operational work.
- Maintains the flexibility to work various shifts, including Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, holidays, and overtime, as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
WORK EXPERIENCES
- 5+ years of engineering experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Experience supervising employees or leading projects involving employees in a unionized work environment.
- Experience supporting multiple capital projects.
- Experience developing, improving, or supporting the implementation of new processes and procedures.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university; Chemical Engineering preferred.
