About the role
The Process Engineer II position is available at Hexcel's Casa Grande, AZ, USA site. This role supports the manufacturing of advanced acoustic materials, satellite and propulsion materials, and aero interiors and defense materials.
Responsibilities
- Develop reliable and capable processes to fully meet customer requirements, emphasizing safety, quality, cost, delivery, and employee morale.
- Solve problems using cross-functional teams with tools like 8-D Problem Solving, Causal Mapping, 9P Problem Solving, and DMAIC, including Design of Experiments (DOE).
- Develop, document, and execute out-of-control action plans (OCAPs) that address process deviations through root cause analysis at both the material and equipment levels.
- Define, lead, and meet Continuous Improvement (CI) objectives that enhance material performance, reduce costs, increase yields, and accelerate product velocity.
- Collaborate with quality, manufacturing operations, maintenance, research and technology, product management, and supply chain to prioritize safety, customer satisfaction, and new product introduction (NPI).
- Lead behavior-based safety (BBS) initiatives through strong leadership, adherence to observation programs, and proactive balanced real-time feedback to ensure the Environmental Management System (EMS) is effectively implemented.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in an engineering or related technical field (preferred: Materials Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Industrial Engineering).
- Advanced degree in technical discipline including an MBA are preferred.
- 4+ years directly related, on-the-job, engineering experience.
- Demonstrated experience with and working knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Six Sigma Certification preferred.
- Computer literate; proficient in statistical software and Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, or equivalent software.
- Good organizational skills, able to manage competing priorities, sudden business interruptions, and lead multiple projects.

- U.S. citizen, U.S. national, person lawfully admitted for permanent residence, temporary resident under sections 210(a) or 245(A) of the Immigration and Nationality Act, person admitted in refugee status, or person granted asylum.
