Job Description

The Process Engineer will:

  • Lead initiatives to improve chemical manufacturing processes, efficiency, productivity, and operational performance.
  • Investigate production operations and identify opportunities to reduce costs, improve process reliability, and enhance safety.
  • Manage and resolve day-to-day operational and production challenges.
  • Coordinate production schedules and material flow activities across manufacturing departments as required.
  • Deliver capital expenditure projects including equipment upgrades, process improvements, facility enhancements, and replacement programs.
  • Specify, select, and procure process equipment and automated control systems.
  • Develop process control strategies and support automation initiatives for chemical operations.
  • Partner with Environmental, Health & Safety teams to establish and maintain safe operating procedures.
  • Coordinate with maintenance personnel, electricians, and external contractors to execute engineering projects successfully.
  • Evaluate processes and equipment to ensure compliance with regulatory and operational standards.
  • Create technical documentation, procedures, and training materials to support operational excellence.

Qualifications

The Process Engineer should have the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in chemical manufacturing or process operations.
  • Demonstrated experience managing process engineering projects and selecting process equipment.
  • Strong understanding of inorganic chemistry, process operations, and analytical techniques.
  • Ability to perform engineering calculations including mass balances, process consumption analysis, and related technical evaluations.
  • Experience developing process flow diagrams and process documentation.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience using AutoCAD or similar CAD software.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to prepare technical procedures and deliver training.
  • Collaborative approach with the ability to work effectively across multiple departments.
