Responsibilities
- Ensure all employees understand and abide by all Company safety rules, regulations, and policies.
- Ensure that safe and sanitary working conditions are maintained in the facility in accordance with Company standards, as well as, state & federal laws and regulations.
- Ensure all employees understand their OSHA rights.
- Conduct safety training topics as required or needed.
- Responsible for scheduling employees to attend all assigned safety meetings, toolbox talks, and safety training sessions.
- Promptly investigate all accidents and near misses, completing appropriate reports and taking action to eliminate root causes.
- Handle Quality Issues, Warranty claims, and Corrective Action responses.
- Manage controlled documents.
- Oversee and coordinate New Equipment installations.
- Design or modify equipment/processes to support maintenance and production requirements.
- Prepare part prints for fabrication and work with outside vendors to secure bids.
- Prepare and submit CPRs along with applicable documents for capital purchases.
- Assist and/or coordinate scrap reduction initiatives.
- Collect and Analyze data to improve processes and maintain process control.
- Support and actively participate in the Quality Improvement Process and Facility Excellence (FEM).
- Work with other foundry and engineering groups to improve processes, equipment and reduce costs.
Qualifications
- B.S. degree in Metallurgical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent bachelor degree.
- Experience in design and construction methods and corresponding costs.
- Understanding of CAD/CAM use and application of foundry processes.
- Ability to direct a cost control program (i.e. scrap analysis, process capability).
- Good communication skills to interface with customers and suppliers.
