Process Engineer

About the role

This role provides technical service to the assigned unit through daily monitoring of unit operations. The incumbent identifies ways to improve quality, reduce costs, enhance safety, lower emissions, and presents recommendations with technical substantiation to the unit team to implement improvements.

Responsibilities

• Develop and conduct tests and evaluate results for proposed operating changes to improve product quality, production capacity, or reduce operating costs.
• Develop knowledge of the technical aspects of the assigned area.
• Investigate the operating and economic feasibility of implementing modern technology, safety and operability recommendations, and planned capacity changes.
• Collaborate closely with the unit team to prepare the annual control budget, operating reviews, and economic studies to evaluate proposed operating programs.
• Provide technical support to PSM/RMP and other regulatory programs.
• Investigate production, safety, environmental, or quality issues.

Qualifications

• A BS in Chemical Engineering is required.
• Distillation process experience is desired, but other kinds of chemical process engineering experience will be considered.
• At least 10+ years of experience as a Process Engineer in a chemical or petroleum manufacturing environment is strongly desired.
