Job responsibilities
- Focus on winning with consumers and the market, while putting safety, mutual respect, and human dignity at the center.
- Provide leadership and creativity in the design, development, optimization, problem solving, and operation of assigned assets & supporting processes in a manner that meets safety and operational performance expectations.
- Drive continuous improvement and lead troubleshooting and problem solving to drive process improvements for the assets they support.
- Develop and deliver equipment and processes that meet safety requirements, policies, and guidelines.
- Provides for the safety and well-being of operators, maintenance, and other personnel.
- Manage medium-to-large initiatives to deliver improvements to asset performance or mill systems and lead major initiatives for breakthrough improvements per asset objectives.
- Identify cost savings opportunities and manage expense spending to asset budget.
- Develop knowledge and skills in leadership of the application of engineering principles, scientific analysis, LEAN principles, and project management.
- Solves complex process issues to root cause to achieve objectives.
- Supports the development of others within the area of the incumbent's expertise, including the creation of knowledge transfer documentation materials.

- Supports maintenance personnel when troubleshooting complex issues.
- Identifies and documents issues and opportunities with existing equipment.
- Supports and participates in training plans for process resources at the site.
- Leads a safety work team.
- Pays attention to reliability projects.
- Assists team with trial planning and trial preparation.
- Supports assets using engineering knowledge, including being on-call and potential shift coverage.
- Provides input to plant expense and capital plans.
- Provides input to capital teams so proposed changes are in-line with the 5-year vision.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemical Engineering or Paper Science or related discipline
- 3+ years industrial experience in a variety of technical or operational assignments in a high-speed consumer product manufacturing and/or staff environment.
- A demonstrated ability to work independently, or as part of a team to complete projects within required timeframes.
- Experience using manufacturing analysis tools, such as: statistical process control, design of experiments, process capability studies, Six Sigma and lean manufacturing.
Preferred Qualifications
- Extensive knowledge with personal care wipes production equipment, materials, and processes is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability of writing and presenting updates to leadership.
- Multiple years of experience in a variety of mill manufacturing and staff support or capital project assignments, including product, process and asset support.
- Experience working with external technical service providers.
- Familiarity with high-speed manufacturing equipment machine startups.
