Process Engineer
About the role
The Process Engineer at KDC is responsible for developing and implementing efficient manufacturing and assembly procedures for new cosmetic and OTC products. They also provide technical assistance with existing products and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Review all specifications and procedures for new KDC-One Port Jervis products.
- Review specifications, procedures, and requirements for customer supplied Tech Transfers.
- Meet with customers to properly implement same as requested.
- Conduct pilots, collect learnings and author detailed batching/line trial recaps.
- Make necessary adjustments to manufacturing procedures and filling/assembly specifications as needed to ensure good product for production.
- Identify and interpret variations in product, equipment, or procedures which may affect results.
- Work with quality team to author accurate filling and assembly specifications for production.
- Set up standard laboratory equipment, run batching and testing, obtain results, and accurately record the results of such tests.
- Work closely with R&D and contribute suggestions for improving laboratory methods and scale up procedures.
- Must be familiar with functions and operation of all laboratory and production equipment in area of responsibility.
- Work with manufacturing and production personnel to troubleshoot problem products.
- Record and report data while implementing procedural/specification changes as needed.
- Assist in the formula input system for assigned area and implement manufacturing and filling procedures into batch pack.
- Should have a good working knowledge of manufacturing and production procedures and GMP’s.
- Must exhibit safe work habits at all times.
- Should have a good knowledge of raw materials and chemical use in products.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree or a minimum of five (5) years’ technical experience in Engineering or Chemistry.
- A minimum of three (3) years of manufacturing plant experience, preferably in the cosmetic industry.
Skills and Abilities
- Excellent communication skills and strong attention to detail.
- Good public relations skills for interfacing with customers and outside plant vendors.
- Knowledge of GMP’s, environmental, safety and QC procedures.
