Responsibilities
- Ensure optimal daily performance of the production line in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
- Handle production line setup processes and perform efficient line changeovers to support production schedules.
- Provide technical guidance, coaching, and training to production operators, and verify the effectiveness of training activities.
- Maintain close monitoring of production processes to proactively identify issues, reduce downtime, and minimize maintenance costs.
- Perform in-process inspections to ensure products conform to customer requirements and engineering specifications.
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues in collaboration with Engineering and Production teams.
- Collaborate with Process Engineers to update and maintain process documentation, work instructions, and training plans.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, including new part builds and the resolution of quality issues.
- Support scrap reduction, rate improvement, and cost reduction projects by applying process engineering and continuous improvement methods.
Requirements
- Associate degree in a technical discipline.
- Experience or strong interest in working within a high-volume production environment.
- Process engineering or manufacturing engineering background, with exposure to production environments.
- Strong computer skills, with proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
- Able to interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately.
- Able to perform in-process inspections and verify conformity to customer and engineering requirements.
- Able to perform high-level maintenance on production tooling and machines.
- Strong problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve technical issues in support of Engineering and Production.
- Effective communication skills to provide clear technical guidance and training to production operators.
Essential Skills
- Hands-on experience in a high-volume production environment preferred.
- Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement tools preferred.
- Experience supporting continuous improvement, scrap reduction, rate improvement, and cost reduction projects.
- Familiarity with soldering and wire processing techniques preferred.
- Knowledge of IPC 620 standards preferred.
- Experience creating or updating process documentation, work instructions, and training plans.
- Exposure to new part builds and quality issue resolution in a manufacturing setting.
