About the role
The Process Control Technician (PCT) position plays a critical role in maintaining and improving the efficiency and reliability of Prysmian's manufacturing processes. Reporting to the Claremont Facilities and Reliability Manager, this role is responsible for the safe setup, installation, troubleshooting, repair, and testing of complex mechanical and electrical equipment.
Responsibilities
- Reviews and accurately reports personal activities on a daily, or more frequent, basis.
- Familiarizes self with Prysmian's manufacturing environment and equipment.
- Familiarizes self with company philosophy, procedures, and practices.
- Supports primary process areas and additional areas as requested by manager.
- Works closely with engineering to resolve daily and recurring issues.
- Follows process data or Key Process Indicators daily and weekly to identify trends, influences, or recurring patterns in the area.
- Performs root cause analysis on reasons for trends, equipment issues—importantly repeat equipment issues, and process drifts.
- Provides support for equipment upgrades and improvements.
- Repairs equipment or gives remote direction for how to repair in an emergency situation, possibly on nights and weekends.
- Occasionally provides off hours support.
- Acts as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for their respective process area(s).
- Provides feedback, training, and guidance to shift TSAs, PCLs, or others to further develop them.
- Generates procedural documents for preventative or corrective maintenance tasks.
- Edits/improves upon existing documentation.
- Assists maintenance and engineering team in plant shutdowns or startups.
- Ensures all product meets requirements as defined by the Plant’s Quality Management Systems.
- Complies with all applicable safety procedures and ISO14001 and ISO45001 EMS guidelines.
- Maintains exceptional housekeeping in the offices, on the floor, and maintenance support areas.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED, or equivalent work experience.
- Associates degree in Electrical Technology, Electronics Technology, or Mechanical Technology, or military training in relevant fields.
- 3 years minimum in industrial maintenance—electrical, electronics, or mechanical.
- Capable of performing low-to-mid voltage electrical work, troubleshooting and correcting faulty logic and control circuits, as well as carrying out installations, repairs, and tests on production equipment.
- Capable of performing light-to-heavy mechanical work.
- Possesses good mechanical/electrical/electronic aptitude.
- Possesses a strong work ethic and able to function effectively with minimal supervision.

- SAP experience preferred.
- Fiber manufacturing experience preferred.
Physical Demands
- Ability to lift, bend, & stoop when required and stand for extended periods.
- Occasional standing, sitting, walking, and talking on the phone.
- Work in front of a laptop or PC workstation for extended periods of time.
- Work in environments with dust, oil, grease, hot and humid temperatures, fumes, noise, etc.
- Wear proper PPE in the manufacturing area (Shoes, safety glasses, and hearing protection as required).
