Process Control Technician

Job Summary

The Process Control Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety, efficiency, and repeatability of resin manufacturing processes at Bakelite facilities. They are responsible for the creation, monitoring, and improvement of batch processes, troubleshooting issues, and optimizing recipes to enhance productivity and reduce errors.

Responsibilities

• Strong process knowledge of batch reactions, equipment, and safety aspects of the system
• Become proficient in programming associated batching software (Experion Batch, PLC)
• Audit other sites' recipes for logical and safety sequencing and identify potential issues
• Utilize data mining and historical trending capabilities to identify opportunities for improvement
• Develop and program desired product recipes in applicable DCS batching systems
• Evaluate new product feasibility at a facility and make value-driven business decisions
• Maintain and optimize recipe logic for safe and efficient recipe flow
• Monitor batch performance and troubleshoot holds, failures, and PI issues
• Communicate effectively with operations and maintenance teams
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and company policies

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• 5-10 years of experience in chemical manufacturing
• Positive influence on personnel and understanding of reactor operation intricacies
• Computer literacy and ability to understand programming processes
• Effective communication skills within the organization
• Ability to adhere to company strategies despite challenges
• Experience with kettle reactors
