About the role
Performs ultrasound procedures in operating rooms and procedural areas in accordance with established departmental policies and procedures to ensure the best possible patient care services are delivered. This role requires additional training and/or certifications due to the complexity of performing in operating room or procedural areas.
Responsibilities
- Reviews radiology exam requests and patient identification to ensure safe, appropriate, and cost-effective imaging.
- Applies a broad range of skills to ensure exams are completed timely and meet quality and compliance standards.
- Provides appropriate Diagnostic Sonography screening process to patients, staff, and self according to prescribed safety standards.
- As part of a multidisciplinary team, obtains high-quality comprehensive imaging studies and effectively communicates findings to the Maternal Fetal Medicine Physician, guided by established AIUM and department protocols, clinical assessment, and patient's medical history.
- Identifies normal from abnormal ultrasound images and holds knowledge of various fetal anomalies including CDH, CPAM, TTTS, CHD, gastroschisis, etc.
- Performs ultrasound guidance for minor invasive procedures including amniocentesis, CVS, vesicocentesis, thoracentesis, fetal fluid drainage, etc.
- Demonstrates proficient skills in 2D, 3D, Doppler, and Color Doppler imaging.
- Operates ultrasound equipment using correct parameters based on gestational age and diagnosis.
- Demonstrates proficient skills in advanced 3D imaging and rendering.
- Calculates measurements, formulas, and ratios with correct annotations and enters into PACS reporting system.
- Provides outstanding patient care with consideration of diagnosis and psychosocial support.

Requirements
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer certification.
- Graduate of an approved discipline-specific program.
- 2 years of relevant work experience.
- Fetal Echo experience preferred.
Position Highlights
- $10,000 bonus for full-time positions (not applicable to current VUMC staff or former staff who worked at VUMC in the past twelve months).

- Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM or 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM (no call, no weekends).
