About the Role
As a Sonographer, you’ll play a vital role in delivering high-quality diagnostic imaging while ensuring patient comfort and safety. Under the direction of the Radiology Medical Director, you will perform a variety of sonographic procedures for diagnostic interpretation, work closely with physicians and healthcare professionals, and maintain high standards of patient care, safety, and documentation. Vascular certification is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Perform sonographic procedures at the request of and for interpretation by a licensed independent practitioner.
- Receive, relay, and document verbal, written, and electronic orders in the patient's medical record.
- Corroborate patient's clinical history with physician’s order and procedure.
- Assume responsibility for patient needs during procedures.
- Record anatomical, pathological, and/or physiological data for interpretation by a physician.
- Assist the physician in gathering sonographic data necessary to diagnose a variety of conditions and diseases.
- Identify, prepare, position patient, and competently perform procedures using established sonographic protocols.
- Conduct POC Creatinine clearance testing as prescribed.
- Evaluate images for technical quality and ensure proper identification is recorded.
- Identify and manage emergency situations.
- Provide education to patients, students, and other healthcare providers.
- Perform ongoing quality assurance activities and maintain equipment.
- Optimize equipment parameters to ensure diagnostic exams are of consistent quality.
- Assist with interventional procedures as needed.
- Maintain archival storage of digital data and assist in maintaining supply inventory.
- Instruct students and residents and perform preceptor duties as necessary.
- Participate in performance improvement activities and staff meetings.
- Demonstrate consistent use of AIDET (Acknowledge, Introduce, Duration, Explain, Thank) and HEAL (Hear, Empathize, Apologize, Leap into action) when interacting with patients.
- Take initiative to assist other modalities/areas of the Imaging Center as needed.
Requirements
- Graduate of an approved program of diagnostic sonography.
- Registered through the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (RDMS).
- OB, Abdominal, and General certification required upon hire; RVT certification required within one year of hire.
- 1 year of experience preferred.
- Skill in operation of sonography equipment and applicable ancillary equipment.
- Ability to work independently and multitask.
- Understanding of human cross-sectional anatomy, physiology, pathology, radiopharmacology, and medical terminology.
- Knowledge of computer applications, including information and billing systems.

Pay
Competitive compensation (full-time or part-time options available).
Schedule
- Full-time: Monday–Friday, 7:30 a.m.–4:00 p.m.
- Part-time: Flexible options available.
