Procedural Scheduler

About the role

The Cardiovascular Scheduling Specialist at Providence Portland Medical Center in Portland, OR is responsible for scheduling various complex Cardiovascular procedures. This position requires the use of medical terminology and enterprise scheduling protocols, coordinating with anesthesia and other departments, and making complex decisions in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Schedule complex Cardiovascular procedures by obtaining necessary resources and historical medical information.
• Coordinate scheduling with anesthesia and other departments.
• Provide superior customer service and service recovery, ensuring high standards of care.
• Facilitate the cardiovascular schedule(s) including preoperative scheduling of procedures.
• Assist the CVL manager, Charge nurses, and staff with daily schedule facilitation.
• Support during emergent cases to assist in communication of needs to other departments.
• Assess, order, and maintain unit office supplies.
• Serve as the liaison and first contact of communication for the CVL.
• Display professional interpersonal skills and presence when communicating with physicians, staff, and the public.

Requirements

• Completion of intermediate level medical terminology, or equivalent education/experience.
• One year of customer service experience.
• Three years of medical office or hospital experience in surgery field.
• Experience with Epic.

Pay

The successful candidate's placement on the wage range for this position will be determined based upon relevant job experience and other applicable factors. The base pay range is $22.44 - $34.33 per hour. Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.

Schedule

This position is a Per Diem/Day Shift role.
