Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of probate proceedings, including filing petitions, preparing court documents, and overseeing estate administration.
  • Advise clients on estate planning strategies, including wills, trusts, and power of attorney arrangements.
  • Conduct thorough legal research using tools such as LexisNexis and Westlaw to support case strategies and ensure compliance with current laws.
  • Draft clear, precise legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and settlement agreements.
  • Negotiate settlements and resolve disputes related to estate matters, family law issues, or creditor claims.
  • Represent clients in court proceedings, mediations, and hearings with professionalism and advocacy.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across practice areas such as environmental law, tribal law & regulations, securities law, personal injury law, workers' compensation law, immigration law, landlord-tenant law, patent law, and litigation to provide comprehensive legal solutions.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 3-5 years of proven experience practicing probate law with a strong foundation in estate planning and estate administration.
  • Ability: Demonstrated ability to handle complex litigation cases involving probate disputes or contested estates.
  • Research: Familiarity with legal research platforms such as Westlaw or LexisNexis for case analysis and legal writing.
  • Drafting: Excellent legal drafting skills with attention to detail in preparing court documents and client correspondence.
  • Negotiation: Strong negotiation skills to facilitate settlements or resolve conflicts efficiently.
  • Experience: Prior experience working in a law office environment with exposure to diverse practice areas, including family law, securities law, or tribal regulations, is preferred.
  • Knowledge: Knowledge of legal administrative processes related to case management and client communication.
